Summer is one of the most famous compositions by Hisaishi which is the score of Kikujiro (Kikujirō no Natsu or "Kikujirō's Summer") which is a 1999 Japanese film starring, written, and directed by Takeshi Kitano.
And Summer was also re-arranged and used for Toyota Corolla commercials, for instance. The recording can be found in his album Curved Music II.
Mamoru Fujisawa, known professionally as Joe Hisaishi, is a composer and director known for over 100 film scores and solo albums dating back to 1981.
While possessing a stylistically distinct sound, Hisaishi's music has been known to explore and incorporate different genres, including minimalist, experimental electronic, European classical, and Japanese classical. Lesser known are the other musical roles he plays; he is also a typesetter, author, arranger, and conductor.
